Board of Park Commissioners Board of Park Commissioners Richard Samek President Pamela Kelly, M.D. Vice-President Cheri Becker Commissioner William Zielke Commissioner Administrative Staff AI Moll Director Jim Anderson Director of Children's Zoo Perry Ehresman Deputy Director Leisure Services Steve McDaniel Superintendent of Parks Garry Morr Associate Director of Administration Our Mission The Parks and Recreation Department maintains over 2 ,700 acres of park land in 84 individual parks and currentlyoperates 19 pavilions, 13 shelters , 2 tennis centers, 4 community centers, 4 pools, 4 golf courses, 2 driving ranges, an ice arena, a botanical conservatory, a zoo and a greenhouse. Recreational facilities include 61 playgrounds, 44 basketball courts, 62 tennis courts, 39 ball diamonds 3 football fields, 20 soccer fields, 3 outdoor volleyball courts, 3 boat launches, 20 miles of paved bike trails, 3 outdoor skating facilities, a campground, a nature preserve, a BMX track and a 1930s era working farm. The Department also provides hundreds of special events , activities and program opportunities for the citizens of our community.
