Social Service/Other Institutions This neighborhood is home to numerous social service and other institutions. In the field of direct social services, agencies found within this area include the Fort Wayne Housing Authority, the offices of the Urban Enterprise Association, the Summit House of Hope, Abundant Life Ministries, Agnest House, and an outreach office of the Wayne Township Trustee's office at Oaklawn Court. Most dominant in this neighborhood are the churches, some of which have developed social service programs. Churches in the neighborhood include: Kings Chapel Assembly Calvary Chapel of Fort Wayne True Love Baptist Church Providence Missionary Baptist Church Union Baptist Church Grace Temple Mount Olive Baptist Church Greater Progressive Baptist St. Peters Catholic Zion Lutheran Church St. John Missionary Baptist Kingdom's Door Worship Center Emmanuel Apostolic Church Koinonia Christian Center Greater Living Epistle Church St. Andrews Catholic Church Greater Mount Ararat Baptist Church Harvest Avenue Missionary Church Some of these churches contain active social service programs. St. Peters houses a Head Start program; Union Baptist is an Associated Churches food bank site. Other institutions also are contained in or near this neighborhood, including several schools (Adams, Bunche and Weisser ParklWhitney Young schools), a neighborhood COPS station (on Oliver Street) and the offices of the Fort Wayne Police Department (Creighton Avenue). Child care facilities include Rainbow Horizon's Daycare (on New Haven Avenue), Gingerbread House (East Pontiac), and two locations for Child Care of Allen County (at the Old Fort YMCA, and at the McCormick Housing Complex). Recreation facilities include the Pontiac Youth Center, the Old Fort branch of the YMCA, and Link's Wonderland.
