1/3 A plan for meeting future requirements of the City as it continues to grow is a second equally important aim of this study. This subject will be covered as Part Two of the Master Plan study to be completed and submitted to the City during the summer of 1969. AREA OF STUDY The total area of study for the Report encompasses an area bounded by Minich Road on the east, Union Chapel Road on the north, Flatrock Road on the south and Homestead Road on the west. This entire rectangularly shaped area extends sixteen and one-half miles in a north and south direction and almost fifteen miles in an east and west direction, extending in approximately equal distances about the City, and containing in all about 156,000 acres of land. The approximate outline of the corporate limits of the City of Fort Wayne, together with the outlines of the City's combined sewer district and of the entire area of study for the Report are illustrated on an accompanying map, identified herein as Figure 1/1. It is estimated that there are some 12,000 acres of land within the City of Fort Wayne served principally by combined sewers. This section (Part One) of the Report will include studies and recommendations for improvements within all of those portions of the City served by such combined sewers. SCOPE In order to more fully understand the problems and to determine the needs of the area for proper relief and adequate sanitary sewer service, the following has been performed:
