Transportation access to the north-south portion of this Planning Unit are very poor. The Penn Central and NorfolkWestern Railroads cut across the northern part of this district. The southern portion of this Planning Unit is floodplain • Drainage and Flooding: Some flooding along the narrow floodplain of the Flaugh Ditch. There are also some poorly drained areas of Pewamo Soil. General Soil Condition: The ~~jor soil types are Morley and Blount. The characteristics of these soils are slow permeabil ity, seasonal high water tables and fair bearing capacity. There are severe I imitations for septic tank use • Sanitary Sewer Service: Sewer service is provided to the central portion of this Unit by the city system and Diversified Util ittes systems • Public Water Supply: Water I ines extend along State Road 14, Taylor Street and Covington Road. Most of the area, however, depends upon private wei Is •
