--- .... .. • .. -.. --- .... ------ --- -- COUNCIL BOARDS AND TECHNICAL COMMITTEE Transportation Technical Committee The Transportation Technical Committee was established to assist and coordinate all transportation planning within the Council's jurisdiction, and in addition, to direct the Fort Wayne-New Haven-Allen County Transportation Study. The Committee is composed of departmental representatives from each of the constituent municipalities, the Federal Highway Administration and the Indiana State Highway Commission. The Committee is responsible for developing the transportation element of the Council's Comprehensive Plan, and is also responsible for conducting the continuous planning phase reviews according to established guidelines. The Corrmittee is responsible for conducting surveys and acquiring data for inventory and analysis purpose~ that relate to economic and demographic factors, land use, travel patterns, traffic control codes, regulations and ordinances, financial resources, and social and community value factors . The Committee further prepares recommendations for scheduling and financing of improvements and keeps abreast of current conditions by continually collecting, reviewing and analyzing data on all elements of the Transportation Plan. Environmental Control Board The Environmental Control Board was created to serve at the pleasure of The Three Rivers Coordinating Council. As such, it serves in an advisory capacity to the Council on all matters related to the environment. In addition to this responsibility, the Board is charged with the development of a comprehensive program for the prevention, abatement and control of pollution within the jurisdiction of the Council. The Board may also set environmental qual ity objectives, determine the need for specific controls to achieve those objectives, and set standards based on need, technical feasibility and economic practicability. To assist in carrying out its mission, the Board may secure scientific, technical, legal, administrative and operational assistance. --3-
