c. Establishment of an emergency public information service to provide authenticated disaster information to the public through all communications media. d. Civil Defense Coordinator will be responsible for: a. Advising the Chief Executives and agency heads regarding matters dealing with emergency operations. b. Coordinating the disaster operations of all governmental agencies and participating agencies before, during and after a disaster. c. Establishing the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and being responsible for its operation. d. Conducting civil defense training classes in the city and county. e. Developing and maintaining the currency of the emergency operations plan. f. Establishing the procedures and organization required to maintain an effective program to minimize the effects of a nuclear attack. g. Establishing reception centers for registering and assignment of volunteers in time of emergency. h. Developing and coordinating communication plan and keeping it current. i. Developing RADEF plan and keeping it current. j. Coordinating shelter operations. k. Coordinating evacuation operations. (5)
