A recital featuring cello and piano sonatas by Brahms ("No. 2 in F Major"), Debussy and Shostakovich, and Camargo Guarnieri's "Ponteio e Dança."

Fantasies, Songs, and Dances: an Early Music Evening
Faculty Recital directed by Melanie Bookout With guests Dr. Ulrich Giese from Berlin, Germany, and Ted Conner from Muhlenberg College In addition to music for lute, the program will feature consort music for five violas da gamba-music that was meant for court and home entertainment. Composers John Jenkins, Orlando Gibbons, John Dowland, and others will be performed.

Faculty Recital featuring Jeffrey Manns, tenor
With guest artist Mitzi Westra, mezzo, and Dale Tucker, Piano The canticle "Abraham and Isaac" by Benjamin Britten will be featured, along with various art songs and duets.

Pianist Angela Cheng
Angela Cheng, the 1986 gold medal winner at the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Masters Competition, will perform sonatas by Haydn and Beethoven, Schubert's "Wanderer" Fantasy, as well as works by Schumann and Louie.

Trombone Studio Recital
Students from the trombone studio of Philharmonic mentor and faculty member David B. Cooke will perform "Great Lakes Octet" by Eric Ewazen, with lush harmonies and interplay between the eight trombones. They will also play a variety of pieces from Bach to "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot."
