PLATO SEMINAR
To further encourage utilization of PLATO in a classroom supportive environment, a faculty seminar is scheduled for January 7, 1977. The seminar will be conducted in room 204B of Kettler Hall from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a lunch break from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. The session will include "hands-on" instruction for each participant. Faculty who have had no experience with PLATO or computers are urged to attend. The intent of this seminar is to discuss the advantages of PLATO for various instructional areas; to make faculty aware of the types of lessons already existing on PLATO; to discuss policies of time scheduling strictly for class utilization; and to encourage the use of PLATO as part of classroom instruction. Each participant will have an opportunity to investigate lessons of interest to them. Dr. Kenneth Modesitt and Dennis Osborn, who will be conducting the seminar, feel they have some fresh ideas to discuss. Ideas generated from the seminar participants, coupled with those of Ken and Dennis, should result in better utilization of PLATO. All faculty members are encouraged to attend this session. PLATO will be available, by sign-up, during the semester break. This could be useful for those who wish to investigate the extensive variety of lessons available in 100 subject areas. Feel free to contact either Ken or Dennis for more details regarding sign-up, or the seminar in general. --Office of the Chancellor
PLATO RESPONSIBILITY
