A Professional Careers Symposium Day, sponsored by the Career Development and Placement Division, will be held Thursday, October 30th, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Student Union. This symposium will be geared toward students considering careers in the represented fields as well as for seniors who are preparing to apply to graduate school. Employment trends, admission standards, and forecasted changes in the professions are topics which will be covered.
Please advise students of this symposium and post this notice where it will be seen.

*All programs will be held in the Student Union Building. All students are encouraged to attend the General Sessions listed above. Students may also sign up for individual interviews between 10:00 am - 11:30 am and 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm. The sign-up sheets will be located outside Room 113 (Placement Office), Student Union.
Civil Service Exam for Federal Positions - Application Deadline, October 20, 1975
The Professional and Administrative Career Examination (PACE) is the new examination used by Federal Agencies to fill a wide variety of government jobs across the country. The new battery of written exams are designed to measure abilities required for the various positions covered by this examination. Most of the positions filled through this test do not require a degree in a specific field. Training for these entry level positions is provided by the employing agency. Some of the positions covered by this exam are: Customs Inspector, Revenue Officers, Tax Technicians, Computer Specialists, Personnel Specialists, Management Analysts, Budget Specialists, Social Insurance Examiners, Social Insurance Representatives, Economists, Writers and Editors, and many others. The current salaries for entry level GS-5 and GS-7 positions listed above are $8,500 and $10,520 respectively.
The examination will be offered in Fort Wayne in November, January, March and May. All January graduates should take the exam in November. Deadline for registration is October 30, 1975.

Just a reminder! Seniors should be encouraged to sign up starting October 6th (all December grads and past grads) and October 7th (all others), for on-campus interviews with the companies scheduled to be here this Fall. Enclosed with this newsletter is a copy of the Fall Recruiting Calendar.
